For GPs and physiotherapists
Thank you for considering a referral. I see adults with hip and knee problems privately at Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital, and I write back after every consultation.
Who I see
- Hip and knee osteoarthritis, including assessment for partial knee replacement
- Painful, unstable, stiff or worn hip and knee replacements, wherever the original surgery was done
- Meniscal tears, including repair in suitable patients
- Second opinions about hip and knee surgery
How to refer
Please send a referral letter to my secretary, Daniela Capaldo, by email at daniela.capaldo@nuffieldhealth.com or by post to Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital, Foxhall Road, Ipswich, IP4 5SW. It helps to include:
- A short history and examination findings
- Current medicines and relevant conditions
- Any X-ray or scan reports
- The patient's insurer, if they are insured
To refer a patient or book an appointment, call Nuffield Health Ipswich on 01473 279100, or book online through my Nuffield Health profile.
Urgent problems
Patients with a suspected infected joint replacement, a locked knee or a suspected fracture should be referred through the usual urgent routes.
Education evenings
I am planning education evenings on hip and knee problems for GPs and physiotherapists in Suffolk. If you would like to be invited, please ask Daniela to add you to the list.
