Hip and knee clinic
My clinic at Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital is for adults with hip or knee pain, stiffness, swelling or injury, and for anyone with a problem with an existing hip or knee replacement.
Who I see
- Hip and knee arthritis
- Meniscal tears and knee locking
- Painful, unstable or worn hip and knee replacements
- Second opinions about hip and knee surgery
Before your appointment
- If you are paying for yourself, you can book directly; a letter from your GP is helpful but not essential.
- If you are insured, most insurers need a GP referral and a pre-authorisation number. Please give the number to Daniela when you book.
- Bring a list of your medicines, any scan reports and letters, and wear or bring shorts so that I can examine you properly.
At your appointment
I will ask about your symptoms and how they affect your life, examine you and review any scans. X-rays are taken at the hospital, often on the same day. If you need an MRI or CT scan, I will arrange it. We will agree a plan together, and I will write to you and your GP afterwards.
Treatments I may recommend
- Exercise and physiotherapy, with a local physiotherapist
- Advice on weight, activity and pain relief
- Joint injections, where they are likely to help
- Surgery, when the benefits clearly outweigh the risks
Clinic times
My clinic at Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital runs every Monday, 8.30am to 12.30pm. Daniela will offer you the next available appointment.
