Second opinions on hip and knee surgery
If you have been advised to have hip or knee surgery, or an operation has not gone as you hoped, a second opinion can help you decide with confidence. Asking for one is common and sensible before major surgery.
What I offer
- A review of your history, letters and scans
- A full examination
- A clear explanation of all your options, including not having surgery
- A written summary for you and, with your consent, your GP
What to bring
- Letters from other specialists, and any operation notes
- Your scan reports, and the images if you can get them
- A list of your medicines
Daniela can help arrange for images to be sent to the hospital before your appointment.
Insurance
Most insurers cover a second opinion with a GP referral. Please check with your insurer before booking. See fees and insurance.
